Nike has announced that it will finally sell replicas of England goalkeeper Mary Earps’ World Cup shirt. The sportswear giant, which is the team’s kit supplier, had been criticized for deciding not to sell goalkeeper shirts, as SGI Europe also reported in July. The company has now “secured limited quantities of the jerseys to be sold through the federation websites,” the Daily Mail has reported. Considering that only “limited quantities” will be released, Earps’ Nike shirt could resell for double its original price, experts cited by the Daily Mail are predicting. Earps claimed the Golden Glove award as the best goalkeeper at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to Aug. 20. England was defeated 1-0 by Spain in the finals.
