Norda, the new Canadian brand of running shoes, has come out with what it claims to be the first shoe that features a graphene membrane. A British company, Inov-8, had put the sturdy and lightweight material in its shoes before, but in their soles and midsoles. The new nordaTM 001 G+® Spke s waterproof/breathable and bacteriostatic. Graphene’s high thermal conductivity allows it to regulate the temperature in the foot. The running shoe also features carbide-tipped steel spikes. Nick Martire, the co-founder and CEO of the company says the brand’s launch has been “exceptional,” with first deliveries sold out and second deliveries completely pre-sold. It first came out with a seamless trail running shoe made from bio-based Dyneema fiber.
