North Sails has stepped up its involvement in the iconic sailing competition by becoming the official clothing partner of the 36th America's Cup presented by Prada. The race will start in April 2020, and will crown a winner in early 2021. North Sails has been supplying clothing and sails for the race for decades. The participants in the America's Cup have been wearing the brand since 1988. The 2020 race will also mark the 10th consecutive edition of the partnership.

North Sails will be launching an America's Cup capsule collection, which will center on sustainable performance. The collection will be crafted entirely from recycled materials, the company said. The men's and women's collection will include a vest, windbreaker, three-layer jacket, soft shell, mid-weight jacket, technical T-shirts, polos, shorts, swim shorts and caps.

Jon Kortajarena, 34, is the face of the campaign that celebrates the partnership between North Sails and the 36th America's Cup. The Spanish model and actor was chosen also for his personal commitment to environmental issues and the oceans, explained North Sails. Kortajarena, among other things, actively collaborates with Greenpeace. North Sails' partnership with the 36th America's Cup will indeed feature a series of actions to raise awareness of environmental issues and the need to preserve our marine ecosystem.

The America's Cup is the oldest international sporting trophy, with a history dating back 168 years. The Cup was originally awarded in 1851.
