Jochen Denninger, most recently adidas Vice President of Marketing Operations, has died at the age of 57.
Denninger passed away on August 23, according to a message published by his family on his LinkedIn profile on Tuesday. In the post, the family thanked his marketing operations team, along with Michelle Robertson and adidas Chief Executive Bjørn Gulden, for their support during what they described as an incredibly difficult time.

“For 29 years, adidas was an important part of his life,” the family wrote, noting that Denninger built meaningful relationships and friendships throughout his career with the Herzogenaurach-based sportswear group. They described him as a valued colleague who touched the lives of those around him and remembered him as a husband, father and friend.
Denninger joined adidas in 1996 in product marketing and went on to hold several senior marketing roles. He was appointed Vice President of Marketing Operations in early 2024. Before joining adidas, he worked as Sales Director at former sporting goods manufacturer Rheingold Sport in Krefeld.
No further details regarding the cause of death have been made public.
