One of the first sporting legacies from the 2012 Olympics has been announced with the launch of RideLondon, a cycling festival that aims to become the largest charity fund-raising cycle ride in the world. The event, which will take place over the weekend of Aug. 3, 2013, is set to include activities for amateur, club and world elite cyclists and is expected to attract over 200,000 visitors from outside the British capital. Its launch follows the success of Team GB cyclists who won 12 meals at the London Games. The festival will be managed by the London & Surrey Cycling Partnership, a joint venture between the organizers of the London Marathon and cycling's Tour of Britain.
