After very good cooperation in the last years, One Way Sport has acquired Nordic Trade Development, the Swedish distributor that has been selling its own products in Sweden since the leading Finnish brand of ski and Nordic walking poles was launched in 2004. Fredrik Heikki will continue as managing director of Nordic Trade, with increased support from the Finnish company for marketing and retail-oriented activities.
The organization in Sweden will consist of two business units for marketing and sales, one for One Way and Start ski wax, and the other for the ongoing distribution in Sweden of Rudy Project, Sportful and three other brands. Nordic Trade will keep its Swedish warehouse for fast deliveries.
One Way Sport will continue as the exclusive supplier of Vasaloppet, the cross-country ski race in Sweden, but the new contract will also include its range of running shoes and winter boots. It will also start a new cooperation with Janne Ahonen and other members of the Finnish ski jumping team for ski jumping boots as well as training and running shoes.
One Way will take over the development, marketing and sales of the apparel range bearing its own brand name next year, following the expiration of a licensing deal with a Finnish company, Nomade Oy.
One Way continues to grow very fast. The company is expecting a pre-tax profit margin of around 10 percent for this year on a 60 percent increase in turnover of close to €9 million.
