Orage, a Montreal-based brand of outerwear that caters primarily to freeride skiers and snowboarders, is reportedly expanding back into the European market. After undergoing several changes of leadership and direction under the umbrella of Coalision and its CEO and president, Bernard Mariette, the brand was sold in 2013 to one of its founders, Eric D’Anjou, and the freeskier Mike Nick. Shortly after, it disappeared from the European market, where it had an office in France and was represented by distributors such as Edgar Tremmel, Chris Sports or Vista Sport, among others. In 2019, the brand introduced a new logo, new technical outerwear and a street fashion collection. At the 2020 ISPO Awards, it finally drew attention again by winning a Gold Winner with its Morrison Jacket. More specific circumstances or partners for Orage’s return to Europe have not yet been revealed. Orage currently sponsors 15 European team riders and is building new partnerships to increase its regional visibility.
