Outdoor-Profis, the group of about 70 specialized outdoor retailers within Sport 2000 Germany, has acquired the outdoor label Gentic. The brand was owned by Odlo, but the Swiss sportswear label did not market it for some seasons. Outdoor-Profis intends to offer it exclusively to its own members in Germany, and also to other retailers abroad, but not to other members of Sport 2000 in Germany. The idea behind the Gentic deal is not to compete with Sport 2000’s own brand High Colorado in the lower price range. Instead Outdoor-Profis plans to position Gentic among the high-end outdoor brands, while proposing High Colorado at slightly lower prices.
