Paul Tagliabue, former commissioner of the U.S. National Football League (NFL) and present chairman of Georgetown University, has joined the board of directors of Netshoes, the biggest online sale platform for sporting goods in Brazil and the second-largest client in the country for big sports brands such as Nike and Adidas. Tagliabue's appointment is said to be related to Netshoes' wish to broaden its reach beyond Latin America and to establish connections with corporate partners and the sports business community. After letting in a new investor from the U.S., Netshoes launched its online store in Argentina and Mexico over the last few months, and it has started to host an NBA shop on its home page in Brazil. An extensive company profile of Netshoes, including its latest figures, is available in the Brazilian sporting goods market report, sponsored by Ispo, that SGI Europe released a few days ago.
