Pearl Izumi Europe has promoted Matthias Reinacher to the position of managing director, effective Jan. 1. Reinacher, who has been with the company for eight years, is currently the senior brand manager of the Shimano-owned firm. He will replace Juergen Sprich, who is to become a partner in a Swiss cycling brand, Cuore. Next year, Shimano will centralize its European operations for Shimano softgoods and Pearl Izumi, and Pearl Izumi Europe will represent both brands in the region. Pear Izumi has been part of Shimano since 2008.
