Pearl Izumi has promoted Mike O'Connor, currently vice president of consumer service, retail & distribution, to divisional president effective Apr. 1, 2013. He will replace Juergen Eckmann, who is leaving the company after more than 11 years. O'Connor has had a long career in retail, having worked with numerous retailers as a consultant with both Deloitte Touche and KPMG/Bearingpoint. He has been with Pearl Izumi for nine years and is a longstanding member of the company's executive committee. A wholly owned subsidiary of Shimano America since 2008, Pearl Izumi is building new global head office facilities in Louisville, Colorado, due to be inaugurated in the autumn of 2013.
