Canada Goose Holdings has announced the retirement and resignation of Stephen Gunn from its board of directors on Oct. 1. Gunn had served on the board since 2017 and was a member of the audit committee.

The details

With Gunn’s departure, the board of directors has been reduced from ten to nine members. Belinda Wong, an independent director, was appointed to the audit committee and designated an “audit committee financial expert” on the same date. Wong brings extensive leadership and governance experience to the role. She previously served as Chairwoman and CEO of Starbucks China.

The announcement was made in conjunction with the company’s second-quarter fiscal 2026 results, released on Nov. 6. While the results highlighted brand momentum and operational improvements, Canada Goose is continuing to realign its governance and refresh its leadership.

The bottom line

The board reshuffle marks a routine yet notable governance update for Canada Goose, reflecting its commitment to financial oversight and board independence. The appointment of Wong strengthens the company’s financial governance at a time of expanding international operations and renewed focus on profitability.
