
Event Fabrics has hired Shannon Walton as its new Marketing and Branding Manager. Walton most recently served as Executive Director of The Redside Foundation, which supports the outdoor leadership community. Before that, she represented dozens of the industry’s top brands through public relations and grassroots marketing as a Partner in The Walton Works Agency. She also spent 10 years as PR and Marketing Manager for Schoeller Textil in the USA.
“Shannon joins Event at a critical time as the performance fabric industry transitions away from ubiquitous PTFE fabrics,” said Chad Kelly, President of Event Fabrics. “Her unparalleled knowledge in this area will directly benefit Event’s customers and the industry as we introduce innovative solutions that address the performance issues that have challenged the development of PFAS-free alternatives. Shannon’s work in product education, brand partnerships, and her creative talents will not only benefit Event and our customers. It will also help transform the textile market in this new era.
Walton will work remotely from her home on the Gulf Coast and report to Kelly, who is based in Event’s Kansas City headquarters. In addition to her work in the North American and European markets, she will work with Event’s Asian headquarters and product development center in Shanghai.
