Sir Jon Thompson is expected to take over from David Daly as chairman of Frasers Group at some point in 2025, Sky News has revealed. Daly has chaired the company since 2018.
Thompson, who joined the Frasers Group board in June as a non-executive director, is the former head of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), Britain’s audit watchdog. Before the regulator, he served as the Permanent Secretary at both the UK Ministry of Defence and HM Revenue and Customs. Before joining the Civil Service in 2004, he held various roles in corporate services and finance in the public and corporate sectors. Thompson currently chairs the High Speed Two (HS2) rail link project.
Frasers declined to comment on Thompson’s prospective appointment, said Sky News.
