Mahbobeh Sabetnia, a non-executive director on the JD Sports board and member of the remuneration committee, has announced her decision not to seek re-election at the company’s upcoming annual general meeting on June 27, 2024. Having served on the board for nearly two and a half years, Sabetnia has been a member of the remuneration committee since November 29, 2021.
In response to Sabetnia’s decision, Andy Higginson, board chair, stated: “Mahbobeh has made a valuable contribution to the board and in her role as a member of the remuneration committee.” JD Sports disclosed that the board has initiated a process to search for and appoint an additional independent non-executive director.
