World Triathlon has announced the appointment of Jon Wyatt as its new Secretary General. Wyatt received the unanimous approval of the World Triathlon Executive Board following a selection process that assessed more than a hundred candidates, the organization said in a statement. He will assume his new role at World Triathlon in early August.

Jon Wyatt is a British former field hockey player and two-time Olympian. He previously served as the Interim Senior Director and Director of Sport and Sustainability at the International Hockey Federation (FIH). He has a combined 27 years of expertise in sports marketing, business development, strategic management and international sports administration. He has worked with Accenture as a strategic consultant.

In his new role at World Triathlon, he will focus on the implementation of the organizational changes designed by the President and the Executive Board. Wyatt is also expected to play a key role in executing the new commercial strategies developed through a study that Deloitte is preparing for World Triathlon, explained the governing body.
