Tracy Knauer’s promotion to SVP, North America underlines the brand’s preference for developing internal talent as it pushes to become the world’s leading premium boutique athletic brand.
New Balance has promoted Tracy Knauer to Senior Vice President, North America, handing the Boston-based brand’s most commercially significant regional market to a 20-year company veteran.
Knauer joined New Balance in 2005 and most recently held the role of Vice President of North American Marketing, E-Commerce and Consumer Analytics. Her career at the company spans marketing, product development, sales and direct-to-consumer — a cross-functional profile that matches the scope of the North American leadership role.
In her first public remarks in the role, Knauer reaffirmed the brand’s strategic direction. “We will continue to have a genuine point of view, stay true to our brand values, and tell stories that evoke,” she said, framing New Balance’s ongoing ambition to remain “relentlessly focused on being the most premium, boutique athletic brand in the world.”
The move continues New Balance’s established pattern of elevating insiders to senior positions — a strategy that sustains institutional knowledge and relationship continuity with wholesale and retail partners, both critical in a competitive North American market where rival brands are investing heavily in DTC (direct-to-consumer) infrastructure.
