After announcing John Hoke’s retirement, Nike has reportedly named his successor.
Tony Bignell, previously Vice President for running footwear, hasbeen promoted to Chief Innovation Officer, according to FashionUnited, which has read an internal Nike memo.
Bignell will be reporting to Phil McCartney and is said to have already begun transitioning into the position in partnership with his predecessor, Nike veteran John Hoke, who will remain with the company to oversee ongoing projects through October.
Nike has again chosen to promote from within. According to his LinkedIn profile, Bignell has been with the company since 1999 and most recently served as Vice President of Innovation Footwear for nine years.
