Thomas John, Puma’s new VP People and Organization

Puma has announced the appointment of Thomas John as its new Vice President People & Organization, effective October 16, 2025. Based at the company’s headquarters in Herzogenaurach, John will oversee global human resources strategy and organizational development, reporting directly to CEO Arthur Hoeld.

John, 59, joins Puma with nearly three decades of international experience in HR leadership. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President Global Human Resources at Landis+Gyr, a global provider of energy management and smart metering solutions, where he led large-scale transformation projects across more than 30 countries.

Before his tenure at Landis+Gyr, John held senior HR roles at KLM, Adidas, and Mann+Hummel, focusing on leadership development, organizational transformation, and talent management.

Hoeld highlights John’s transformation skills

“Thomas offers a wealth of experience when it comes to human resources strategy, organizational development and leadership and is deeply familiar with the challenges and opportunities of our industry,” said Hoeld. “I am confident that his strong background in organizational transformation and global HR management will help us take Puma’s operational excellence to the next level.”

John succeeds Dietmar Knoess, who is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities and is the last in a longer list of personnel changes at Puma as you can see here.
