The retail chain consolidates its sustainability strategy in a new key position with Katja Mendel.
Katja Mendel will take on the newly created position of Sustainability & Impact Manager at Sport 2000 effective July 1. In this role, she will be responsible for the strategic development and operational implementation of the Green Vision sustainability strategy, a key future topic for the Mainhausen-based retail group.

With her experience as Retail Format Manager for the Sport 2000 Outdoor Division and her own background as a retailer, Katja Mendel brings valuable perspectives to her new role. Her deep understanding of the practicalities of specialist retail is a key factor in the successful implementation of sustainable strategies in a realistic, relevant, and effective manner.
“Sustainability is not a trend, but our shared responsibility. With this new role, we are creating a clear structure for further developing our GREEN VISION and embedding it in the everyday work of our retailers, Sport 2000 Managing Director Margit Gosau, said. “Katja Mendel brings not only the expertise but also the necessary feel for retail.”
