Sports Emotion, parent of the Fútbol Emotion, Basketball Emotion and Running Emotion chains, has hired Irene Merino to be its Chief People Officer.
Merino hails from Decathlon, where she spent a good 14 years in personnel. She began with a nearly ten-year stint in HR with Decathlon Spain, then spent four and a half years as Head of HR for Decathlon Mexico and, finally, became Decathlon’s Global Head of Gender Balance.
According to Sports Emotion, Merino has also played football professionally. She has maintained a connection to the sport, serving these days as President of CFF Olympia Las Rozas.
