Pepe has signed an endorsement deal with Nike. The Real Madrid defender will wear Nike boots rather than his usual Umbro pair for the duration of the deal's tenure. The 29-year-old champion becomes the seventh player at Real Madrid to agree to a deal with the U.S. brand, joining fellow players Cristiano Ronaldo, Sami Khedira, and Gonzalo Higuaín, among others. Adidas, which sponsors the club with its official jerseys, nonetheless continues to dominate the team's portfolio of players, with 14 in total, including the goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso. Following the agreement, Pepe will become one of Nike's key football personalities in his native Portugal, where Nike also sponsors the national team.
