Peter Terry has been appointed as the new managing director of Diadora UK, replacing Fabio Malipiero who returns to the head office in Italy after just 18 months in the position. Terry previously spent five years as managing director of Pro Tour, which supplies apparel to the PGA and LPGA golf tournaments. Before that, he worked with the UK office of GFT, the former Italian-based licensee of Calvin Klein, Georgio Armani and Valentino. Currently the vast majority of Diadora’s UK business is in football, but the company wants to improve its performance in other categories as well, especially in tennis and running. While negotiating a special partnership with a large retail customer, the brand is looking to sponsor a new football team in the Premier League and to find a new star to replace its iconic endorsee, Roy Keane, who is now approaching the end of his playing career with the Glasgow Celtic team.
