PGA Tour Enterprises, the recently established commercial venture under PGA Tour’s control, has unveiled the names in its 13-member board of directors, effective immediately. The new board comprises six current PGA Tour players-directors – Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson, Jordan Spieth and Tiger Woods – as well as three board members who will represent the PGA Tour: former PGA Tour player Joe Ogilvie, Joe Gorder, who serves as an independent director on the PGA Tour policy board, and PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan. The remaining four members – John W. Henry, Arthur M. Blank, Andrew B. Cohen and Sam Kennedy – are Strategic Sports Group (SSG) directors appointed by the SSG investor group.
SSG, a consortium of American sports team owners led by Fenway Sports Group, joined PGA Tour Enterprises as a minority investor in January, providing an initial $1.5 billion of capital.
Monahan will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of PGA Tour Enterprises, while Woods will serve as the Vice Chairman.
