Pitti Immagine has released attendance numbers for its Pitti Uomo, which ran from Jan. 13 to 16 along with the Pitti W Woman Precollection. The shows brought in a record number of exhibitors, about 1,000, and 35,000 visitors, up from the 34,000 last year. The number of buyers dropped, however, to 22,672 compared with just over 24,000 in 2007. Of these, 7,066, or 31 percent, were from outside Italy, with the number of Italian buyers staying about the same. Decreases were seen in attendees from the U.K., Spain, the U.S., Russia and Japan. Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and Spain sent the most people to the shows.
