PPR is apparently waiting for a recovery at Puma before making other acquisitions in the sports and lifestyle sectors, where it is eyeing the outdoor segment in particular. At a press conference in New York, François-Henri Pinault, chief executive of the French group, was reported by Women's Wear Daily as saying that the outdoor and action sports area is “really where we think sports performance extends to the lifestyle field, and it's where we want to express ourselves.” He also pointed out that, with Puma being a distant Number 3 after Nike and Adidas, it is “not at all where our ambition is for the brand, so we're putting in place the right organization to fulfill that. Once we're on track, we'll continue to build the portfolio around Puma,” he added. Meanwhile, PPR has sold the last component of its Redcats operation in the U.S.: OneStopPlus Group, a group of virtual stores focusing on products for large-sized women.
