Andy Bough, the experienced British golf professional, is one of casualties in a reorganization of the 40-man staff of Premium Golf Brands, which has been asked by its financially strapped Irish bankers to reduce some costs in order to enjoy their ongoing support for its numerous new initiatives, including the expansion of its Dwyers line and the international deployment of its new Calvin Klein golf apparel license.
While no figures could be obtained, PGB is said to be financially stable on slightly higher turnover for this year, in spite of generally difficult conditions in the golf market. The European business is still growing. Orders for Calvin Klein golfwear are up by around 20 percent and discussions are being conducted with a potential partner for its distribution in Asia.
Based in Scotland, Bough has been working for PGB as European sales director, working also on marketing. His responsibilities will be split between the company’s majority shareholder, Alan Dwyers, and its chief executive, Graeme Jenkins. Bough had been previously in charge of international sales, marketing and product development at Hi-Tec and Glenmuir. He is now looking for new challenges in the international golf market, possibly including the distribution of foreign brands in the U.K. market.
