Primaloft is coming out with a new insulation for high-output sports activities, called Primaloft Gold Insulation Active, as a step-up to the Primaloft Silver Insulation Active solution introduced one year ago. Both use proprietary manufacturing and finishing processes that lock its fibers in place, preventing them from migrating through fabrics. They enable excess heat and moisture to escape, keeping the user comfortable and dry. Both can be used in combination with more breathable, open-weave shell and liner fabrics, and both are suitable for high-aerobic activities such as running, trekking and skiing. However, Primaloft Gold Insulation Active can also be used with four-way stretch fabrics. It is soft and packable, and it is water-resistant for use in skiing as well as other outdoor activities. The list of launch partners for Primaloft Gold Insulation Active, which will be presented at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market and Ispo Munich next month, includes Adidas Outdoor, Audimas, Bergans of Norway, Billabong, Degré 7, Eddie Bauer, Gore Bike, Lacroix, La Sportiva, Marmot, Merrell, Norrøna, Rab, Red Sox, Schöffel, Skigo and Under Armour. Primaloft Silver Insulation Active, which was first launched at last January's OR show, has been adopted by Marmot, Norrøna and Under Armour as well as Helly Hansen, Houdini, L.L.Bean, Lands' End, Mammut, Montane, Musto, Odlo, Puma, Roots and Vaude. Others are expected to come on board in 2016.
