Adidas is launching the X Speedflow, a football boot that is said to “redefine speed” in the game. In 2020, the company launched the X Ghosted, developing a light-weight boot that would reflect today’s fast football. Adidas’ product creation team got feedback from both athletes and amateurs on how that boot could be improved further. The X Speedflow’s construction introduces a new engineered agility frame, designed to allow fast players to change direction rapidly. An engineered lightweight Primeknit upper provides an adaptive fit, especially designed for intuitive players who need to react quickly. The Primeknit upper is the lightest-to-date on a football boot, Adidas claims. The X Speedflow will be worn by Lionel Messi, who returns to the speed franchise for the first time since 2015, as well as Mohamed Salah and Karim Benzema, among others. The new X Speedflow, already available via adidas.com/football and selected Adidas stores, will also be available at selected multi-brand retailers from July 20. On that day, fans around the world will be given the opportunity to take part in a fully immersive digital experience at adidas.com/xspeedflow.
