Garmin has announced the launch of the Instinct Esports Edition, a GPS smartwatch designed for e-sports gamers and enthusiasts. The smartwatch uses a dedicated e-sports activity function to track and analyze heart rate and stress during games while also monitoring the long-term trends. At the end of a gaming session, users can syncronize their activity to the free Garmin Connect app to view, analyze and store their data and see how their body reacts under different gaming conditions. The Instinct Esports Edition is said to provide up to 80 hours of battery life in e-sports mode and up to 14 days in smartwatch mode. When combined with a compatible smartphone, the Instinct provides smart notifications such as e-mail, texts and alerts to the user’s wrist. The Instinct’s look, with bold black and red colors and a high-contrast display, is also designed to make it stand out as a non-traditional smartwatch.
