Lacoste is introducing a Classic Fit polo shirt with 30 percent of the fabric coming from the cotton of polo shirts that the company has discarded for manufacturing flaws and that have never been put to market. The remaining 70 percent is virgin cotton. The weave of the Loop, as this shirt is called, has an irregular look due to this mixture of fibers. The shirt stems from Lacoste’s Durable Elegance initiative, which is intended to align production with the principles of the circular economy. It went on sale today, Feb. 22.
