H.E.A.T. (Heated Electronic Active Technology), a start-up based in Great Falls, Montana, has launched a new line of technologically advanced heated clothing that is said to have the potential to revolutionize the winter apparel industry. The H.E.A.T. One-Layer smart system combines advanced textiles, smartphone technology and customized, ergonomically correct batteries. Energy is provided by CorePower, a custom-built lithium polymer battery system and the proprietary source for the garment. CorePower has an ergonomic design that curves around the body. The battery housing is hermetically sealed with a waterproof gasket around the micro-USB port. The battery lines up with magnets, with no wires or plug-ins. The designers of the heating system consulted with a cardiovascular specialist in order to identify the body’s most abundant arterial blood flow zones. This is where the heating pads are placed. The heated One-Layer warms blood while it circulates through the user’s body, providing deep full-body warmth, the company said. The garment comes with a smartphone app that pairs with the garment and controls the battery life and three heat settings.
