Puma and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Design Lab will be showcasing the results of their research in the field of biodesign at the upcoming Milan Design Week. Biodesign uses living materials, such as bacteria or algae, to create products for our daily lives. The sportswear brand and the American lab have been conducting research in this field since June 2017. The event in Milan will focus on how innovative apparel, footwear and wearables for sports can adapt in real-time by using living organisms to enhance performance. The exhibition will show four experiments, including a breathing shoe, a deep learning insole that provides real-time biofeedback, carbon eaters and adaptive packaging. The Milan Design Week will run on April 17-22.
