Puma has named Torsten Hochstetter, 46, to the newly created position of global creative director, effective July 15, 2013. Based in Herzogenaurach, Hochstetter will report to the brand's chief executive, Björn Gulden. He will be responsible for designing, creating and developing Puma's Sport Performance and Sport Lifestyle collections, covering all product categories including footwear, apparel and accessories, and working with all of Puma's respective design teams worldwide. Before joining Puma, Hochstetter was creative director at O'Neill in the U.S.. Prior to that, he worked for Adidas in Germany, the U.S. and Japan, holding positions such as creative director for sport performance and creative director for sport style. He started his professional career at S. Oliver, a German fashion company, in 1993. Hochstetter holds a fashion design degree from Ent-Art Polimoda in Florence. He also completed a tailoring apprenticeship.
