Puma has introduced a special collection in collaboration with the Instituto Neymar Jr., a community center founded by Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. that supports underserved youth in his old neighborhood of Praia Grande, near Santos. Puma worked with children from the institute to create graphics inspired by the player and finally used a mix of the different graphics that the children created. The brand had asked the children what “Neymar means to them.” The children’s names feature on the back neck sign-off on the collection T-shirt and the insole of the boots.
Instituto Neymar Jr., inaugurated in 2014, has since helped underprivileged children and their families through sports, healthcare and education. Children can go to the institute after school to learn extra skills. The institute has reached more than 10,000 people thus far.
