Puma will come out next year with a new line of distinctive and functional sunglasses and other eyewear products that will include specific models for running and golf. They are being developed through a new partnership with Kering Eyewear, a new subsidiary of the eponymous French group that owns the German sports brand. Kering Eyewear takes over from Puma's 12-year-long eyewear licensee, Charmant, with effect from deliveries to the stores in January 2016. Based in Italy, Kering Eyewear was recently set up by Kering to handle the eyewear collections of Gucci and the numerous other sports, lifestyle and luxury brands that it owns, starting with nine brands including Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen. Many of these brands were previously licensed to Safilo. Kering Eyewear is run by Roberto Vedovotto, a former manager of Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers who ran Safilo until the end of 2013.
