Qatar is reportedly ready to bid once again to stage the Olympic Games in 2036, despite having failed in the past, according to multiple press sources. Qatar is currently hosting the FIFA World Cup, the first to take place in the Middle East and in a northern hemisphere winter. FIFA expects record revenues this year, driven by the event, as we previously reported.

Because of Qatar’s summer weather, the Olympics would likely have to move to the autumn if it were to go to Doha in 2036. Other countries, including India and Indonesia, have already expressed an interest in hosting the 2036 Games. In October, Olympic officials revealed that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was in talks with ten candidates on four continents, although the IOC had not yet officially identified the bids.
