Reebok, an Authentic Brands Group (Authentic) company, and Global Citizen, a leading international advocacy organization, unveiled the Reebok x Take Action footwear and apparel collection. Earlier this year, Authentic announced a strategic partnership with Global Citizen to empower consumers to activate their purchasing power by taking action on the most pressing issues facing humanity and our planet. Reebok x Take Action, the first joint collection between the two organizations, highlights the important role education plays in advancing justice in marginalized communities.
Global Citizen’s platform empowers people around the world to take action on our world’s most pressing issues and advocates for systemic change around the problems that lead to extreme poverty.
The new capsule supports Reebok’s commitment to inspire movement and encourage people to reach their full potential, as well as one of Global Citizen’s key priorities to demand equity. Each product in the collection includes a QR code that directs consumers to the Global Citizen app, which encourages them to take action for greater justice.
To further amplify the mission, Reebok and Global Citizen have partnered with Texas-based changemaker and Reebok Human Rights Award (HRA) 2022 winner Dieter Cantu. Cantu advocates for access to education for all, and that education is a driving force for justice. As a recipient of the Reebok HRA 2022, Cantu was recognized for his commitment to promoting the mental health and physical well-being of young people through library spaces and sports training programs he establishes in youth facilities and halfway houses. Reebok has also partnered with Cantu to donate books to Cantu’s nonprofit organization, Cantu’s Books, which works to improve literacy skills for incarcerated youth.
The Reebok x Take Action collection is currently available exclusively in the USA on Reebok.com. The capsule will be available globally in early 2024.
