For the summer 2021 season, Reima continues to develop its Cooling Comfort collection, which helps kids feel fresh despite the summer heat. One innovative technology introduced by the Finnish sports brand is called Xylitol Cool and is based on edible sweeteners. Originally used in Finland as a sugar substitute in chewing gum and candies, it turns out that Xylitol can also be made into a heat-absorbing fabric finish that cools the skin by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius. After about 10 minutes of wear, body moisture activates the gear, which then begins to absorb heat. The cooling effect of this safe and non-toxic finish lasts for at least 20 washes.
