Replacing Peter Ahman, who is leaving the Finnish company, Risto Salo has taken the position of chief executive of Oy Sultrade on an interim basis until the appointment of a permanent CEO in due time. Salo has been serving since last summer as a member of the board of directors of the company, which is estimated to be the third-largest supplier of sporting goods in Finland after L-Fashion Group and the Adidas Group. In addition to its own brand, Catmandoo, Sultrade distributes the brands Craft, New Balance, Speedo, Umbro, Easton, Timberland, Hestra, The North Face, Select and Mikasa in Finland, and partly also in other Nordic countries as well as in Russia and Baltic countries. It is projecting sales of around €35 million in 2016. Salo has spent 25 years in the sporting goods industry. He was the managing director of Halti from 1992 to 2008 and stayed on its board until last year.
