Forward, a major Russian supplier of sports apparel, is planning to open new brick-and-mortar stores in its domestic market, focusing on cities with a population of more than one million people, as its offline sales have been recovering during the past few months, going back to pre-lockdown levels. Currently, the brand, which holds the rights for clothing bearing the Team Russia label, operates a network of 53 physical mono-brand stores. While their sales dropped to zero during the coronavirus-related lockdowns, the brand’s online sales have grown by more than 25 percent so far this year, and the management expects the growth to continue in the next few years.
