Along with its partner in Argentina, Tarco, Billabong has opened a shop at Austria Ski, a key wholesale store in San Martin de Los Andes, a scenic town in northwest Patagonia. The location features an assortment of the brand’s sun and ski wear – ideal for the area’s alpine atmosphere, glacial lakes and sandy beach.
Billabong was founded in Queensland, Australia, in 1973 and is distributed in over 100 countries worldwide.
The company is now part of the Authentic Brands Group, which acquired Boardriders, Inc. from Oaktree Capital Management for US$1.25 billion in 2023. Boardriders included the Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, RVCA, DC Shoes, Element, VonZipper and Honolua brands. The takeover was finalized in September 2023.
