Highsnobiety, the Berlin-headquartered magazine, consultancy, and shop, will shut down its e-commerce division by the end of the year and refocus on editorial work and brand advisory, according to Oui Speak Fashion, which draws on reporting from Business of Fashion.
“This decision is not the end, but the beginning of a new chapter,” says the company, and it will apparently cost about 50 of the company’s 275 jobs. Highsnobiety intends to “strengthen its editorial business and collaborations with brands while placing greater emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility within the fashion industry,” according to Oui Speak Fashion.
Highsnobiety has been releasing quarterly reports on fashion and consumer economics in tandem with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) since 2018. The latest, number 12, is “Luxury Redefinied: Stop Selling the Dream, Start Fitting into Reality.”
In addition, it has been organizing the annual “Not in Paris” multimedia exhibition since 2020 and regularly establishes partnerships with such fashion brands as Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta and Prada.
