Ole-Henrik Skirstad will step down as CEO of Norway’s leading specialist sports retail chain, Sport Holding, on Oct. 9, 2024. The company’s Board of Directors will immediately initiate the recruitment process to find his successor. In the meantime, the Chairman of the Board, Petter Schouw-Hansen, will hold the position of CEO.
Sport Holding is Norway’s leading sports chain with more than 375 full-range and specialty stores across the country under the Sport 1, Intersport, Löplabbet, Anton Sport, Sportsnett, Milslukern and Skandinavisk Høyfjellsutstyr concepts. In Q2 2024, Sport Holding sold just over NOK 3 billion (€256.1m) worth of sports equipment. This represents a 3.8 percent decline compared to 2023, as SGI Europe reported earlier.
“We would like to thank Ole-Henrik for his fantastic work over the past ten years in Sport 1 Group and Sport Holding,” said Chairman Schouw-Hansen. “The establishment of Sport Holding in 2020 meant a comprehensive integration between two wholesale and franchise concepts at a time when demand for sports and outdoor equipment varied greatly during and after the pandemic.”
