Stephanie Gilmore has signed a new deal with Rip Curl

Rip Curl has made waves in the surfing world with its latest signing of eight-time world surfing champion Stephanie Gilmore. The groundbreaking agreement, valued in the millions, spans eight years, coinciding with Gilmore’s planned sabbatical from the Championship Tour.

A veteran in professional surfing, Gilmore boasts an illustrious career, securing the WSL World Champion title eight times. Despite announcing a hiatus from the CT earlier this year, Gilmore’s break differs from others as it comes with a defined timeline. Her one-year sabbatical will conclude with her comeback to competitive surfing in the 2025 season.

While Gilmore has a longstanding partnership with Roxy/Quiksilver, her history with Rip Curl dates back to 2000 when she first signed with them at the age of 12. Under Rip Curl’s sponsorship, she clinched her first four World Championships from 2007 to 2010.

In addition to Gilmore’s signing, Rip Curl also extended contracts with surfers Molly Picklum, Erin Brooks, Alyssa Spencer, and Crosby Colapinto, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing surfing talent.
