Robert Polet, a former president and chief executive of the Gucci Group of luxury goods companies, has joined North Sales as partner in its apparel division. He will work on building up the brand with Eric Bijlsma, former chief executive of Scotch & Soda, who became a major shareholder and CEO of North Sales Apparel last October, in connection with the acquisition of the brand by the Oakley fund. Polet, who had previously spent 26 years at Unilever, left Gucci in 2011. He currently acts as chairman of Safilo Group and is described as a passionate sailor.
