Rolf Frischknecht, a 55-year-old Swiss manager who left the executive board of Sport Eybl & Sport Experts last year, after its acquisition by Sports Direct International, is joining the executive board of Sport Scheck in Germany to run its 18 bricks-and-mortar stores business. He already acted as chief financial officer of Intersport Schweiz from 1996 to 2002, supervising the integration of the former Zentrasport and Camarosport buying groups, and introducing a benchmarking system for the retail members and equipment rentals. He also worked at Boards & More between 2002 and 2004. Frischknecht joined Sport Eybl in Austria in 2007. His appointment coincides with a major reorganization of the company, which is turning more into a process-oriented operation with the introduction of SAP. As a result, many of the 400 employees of Sport Scheck are changing functions and 15 are being dismissed. An additional 400 jobs will be created at its new logistic center in Erfurt.
