RTE, the parent company of the former Portuguese bike producer Decanor, has opened the largest bicycle factory in Europe in Serzedo. Across the street from its old space, the new facility has the capacity to put out 3,400 bikes per day; the company plans to make 1 million bikes in 2009. Wheel assembly takes place in the old factory, where 5,000 pairs are put together every day.
