Saucony has launched a big multi-lingual European website under www.saucony.eu, with various features including store locators for various countries. It is part of an effort aimed at pushing the brand’s sales outside the U.S. from 30 percent of the total turnover to 32 percent by 2013. Officials of Saucony’s parent company, Collective Brands, have indicated that total sales under the brand have been growing at a compound annual rate of 22.5 percent in the past three years, thanks in part to the introduction of apparel two years ago. They have reached an annual level of $227 million, or $257 million including children’s shoes that are sold through the group’s Stride Rite division. In Europe, its sales are set to grow this year to €24 million from €20 million in 2009, according to another source.
