Scan Trade Holding, the large Norwegian distribution company, recently took over the rights to distribute Nordica and Rollerblade in Sweden and Finland from Seger United, which wants to tighten up activity in its New Wave Sports division. Scan Trade will run the business through a new subsidiary, Scan Trade Scandinavia. The company already distributes Nordica and Rollerblade in Norway, where it is considered a major player on the sporting goods market. It generated a turnover of 500 million Swedish kroner (€52.8m-$75.8m) in 2007, and has other important brands in its portfolio such as Umbro, Mizuno, Scott and Suunto. The company will keep employees from Seger who worked with the two brands in Sweden and Finland, leaving Peter Engström and Jarmo Homm in charge in these respective countries. It targets SEK 50 million (€5.3m-$7.6m) in sales from both markets in the first year of operation through September 2009.
